Sim Jong Un strikes again. Article exposing child harassment removed from subreddit with censorship tactics ‘inspired by the nazis’

A SimNews article detailing harassment and child abuse (that some believed was not happening and previous articles on the situation were false) was removed by a moderator of the r/flightsim subreddit following it being linked to by an anonymous whistle-blower in the flight sim community. Following days of hysteria by recent articles posted by SimNews, we yesterday posted an article that was intentionally dumbed down for the brainwashed by the fake mainstream flight sim media that fully exposed child harassment occurring under the watch of one of the communities most well known names. Shortly after it was posted to the subreddit by a well known, anonymous whistle-blowing account a moderator removed the post citing rules of ‘spam’ and ‘self advertising’. It is clear neither of these rules apply as the post was not spam, it was a very important issue that we are trying to raise awareness for that is occurring in the community that the subreddit is dedicated to. Secondly, the rule of self advertising does not apply either – the person who linked to the article (who came to us following the censorship) has nothing to do with the writing, management or administration of SimNews and therefore it cannot be considered self advertisement. For the purposes of disclosure it should be noted that the whilstleblower has worked with us in the past and provided us with some of the biggest stories in the Flight Simulator.

The moderator who took the post down is not new to the censorship of SimNews articles. In fact, he recently earned himself the name of Sim Jong Un due to his mass censorship regime that even Chairman Kim of North Korea would be jealous of. He is known to censor and target SimNews articles that are telling facts that many know about but not many want to hear due to the fact that most likely, they either have sympathy for the people committing the horrendous acts or are involved in them someway themselves. The fact that the child bullying and harassment is being censored and covered up is a worrying thought and what makes the situation even worse is the fact that high profile figures who are each day capitalizing on; and profiting from the flight sim market are directly involved in the stories that we are trying to expose.

SimNews reached out to an expert on censorship to give their opinion on the situation. They were quoted as saying the following:

“Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people”

This online deletion of article links is considered a modern day equivalent of book burning which was a method used by the nazis in the lead up to the use of concentration camps and the “Final Solution”. Although the subject matters may not be the same, the analogy can be summed up as this. In this case: child harassment and bullying is occurring in the community (or a minority group that Adolf Hitler does not take particularly well too are free and welcome to do as they please) so the people purporting the abuse don’t want to be found out or exposed (or Adolf Hitler wants to portray the minority groups in a bad light so that he can start to be rid of them) and to achieve this, the people responsible.. or their fans will begin to censor links being shared exposing the behavior that is occurring (or in our analogy, Hitler orders the burning of texts that portray the Nazi’s in a bad light or texts that either support the minority groups or were written by members of those groups). This is why censorship online, no matter how small, should not be taken lightly.

The censorship of SimNews follows the targeted takedown of right wing radio broadcaster Alex Jones and his InfoWars show on multiple social media platforms which were removed in one fell swoop by almost all major social media sites. Although SimNews holds little sympathy with the ideas promoted by InfoWars or Mr. Jones, it is worrying how similar the censorship is and how close it is happening to both SimNews and InfoWars.

We hope that this article reaches Sim Jong Un and that he will reconsider his stance on SimNews and will help to expose the child harassment and bullying that is being allowed to operate by high profile figures in the community.

  1. I saw that post but it looks like the moderators are right about that whole spam thing – they replied

    * If you do not participate in other discussions or reply to comments and questions, you may be considered a spammer and banned from /r/flightsim

    * If other users in a community historically downvote your posts or ones similar to yours, but you feel the need to continue submitting them anyway, you may be considered a spammer

    * Submitting an article, video, or announcement that is relevant to flight simulation that you are not the author of is not self-promotion (**however repeatedly posting links to the same source may be considered as spam**).

    • Child harassment and bullying should not be covered up. The subreddit is one of the places that is most viewed by members of the community and people needed to hear it. SimNews disagrees with the censorship.

  2. Was the expert on censorship nineteenth-century German Jewish poet Heinrich Heine? Because that exact phrase was what he wrote in his 1820–1821 play ‘Almansor’ according to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum…
“Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen”: “Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people.”

If you are going to ‘reach out’ to experts, please provide sources, or at least their association, otherwise it might look like you are making it up 🙂

    • That is the expert, correct.

      • So the expert is from 1820 and is a poet… Very much an expert on law

        • The quote was referring to censorship.. not about law?

          • My apologies, your expert who you reached out to, is from 1820, an expert on censorship (as a poet?) and is dead. How exactly did you reach out? Went to church and asked to speak with him? Dug his grave up? Took the tardis?

It’s rather personal however what I can say is that our reporter had a vision of the expert and that this is what he would have wanted.

The point still stands, censorship is NOT ok.

            To paraphrase another expert:

First they came for SimNews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a peace-loving, fact hunting, truth seeker.

Then they came for Alex Jones, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not an Info Warrior.

Then they came for the fake flight sim news media, and I did not speak out—
            Because I was a pussycat.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

          • I’d like to quote the story:
“SimNews reached out to an expert on censorship to give their opinion on the situation.”
How exactly did you ‘reach out’ to an expert who died almost 200 years ago? also, he was not an ‘expert on censorship’, he was a poet… and moved from Germany to France when he was young to escape censorship, not specialise in it…

            See reply to above comment.

  3. Child harassment has really hurt me in the sim community.

  4. As I am having some slight issues posting a comment on the original post of “Child Harassment and Bullying”, I will comment here.

The individual that is commonly mentioned in this post is I, David Solesvik, commonly known as “dsolesvik”. I am not afraid to speak out and would also like to say that I do not take these comments personally and etc. Everybody gets bullied sooner or later in his life but that doesn’t mean that you should care about it. But I would also like to apologise to anyone who have gotten into trouble because of my actions. All I did was sharing my personal opinion. I openly came out on Matt Davies’ Discord server today to apologise for ay inconveniences that I have caused and I must say, the members of the Discord responded very kindly. I would like to thank you for regarding this issue. And for the reference, I am currently 14 and 1/2 years of age

    • Thank you for speaking out. You shouldn’t have to apologize. You are a child, Matt Davies is a grown adult and a man with quite the following. He should use it responsibly and people who ‘moderate’ for him should not be editing pictures or bullying children for simply sharing their opinion. That’s simply how it is. SimNews stands in full support of preventing online abuse and harassment. Although you may not care about it, we can’t sit by and not report it. Because if we do, what will happen is these people will carry on doing the same thing to other people who may not be able to take it as much as you can. This could lead to terrible, terrible things – even to the point of loss of life.
